DESTROYING OUR HERITAGE

Please pray for Michael's son Patrick who has been diagnosed with a rare terminal muscle disease.
 ...
In my last blog post I talked about the dumbing down of the students in our schools and how it is causing us to fall behind much of the rest of the world in critical areas like math and science. However, that is just the beginning of the problems we have in education in the United States, and most of it is being caused deliberately.

THE DUMBING DOWN OF AMERICA

As I write this article the battle continues in Wisconsin between the Republican Governor, Scott Walker, the Republican controlled State Legislature, and the powerful teachers unions and their allies. At issue is the future of a state that faces a budget shortfall of billions, yet is required by state law to have a balanced budget.
As is the case in many states across the nation, the financial problems are primarily due to outlandish salaries and benefits being paid by states to public employees, including teachers.

DISASTER - The U.S. Economy - 2008 to 2011

Two years ago on January 20th, Barack Obama was inaugurated as president of the United States and Democrats took control of the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives. They did so with faith in a small group of radical socialists that they thought had the right plan. As it turns out, it was too much faith placed in too few with devastating results for the entire world economy.

Are you better off today than you were two years ago?

AMERICANS - Where Are We?

by Dr. Del Tackett,
author of the Truth Project

I’m taking a much-needed break—a week off to be with some Air Force buddies somewhere on the surface of this current planet.   Here are some hints: I swam with a sea turtle today; it is minus 20 degrees at my home, but 78 degree here; I stopped at a roadside stand and bought a delicious loaf of homemade mango bread; yesterday I saw three whales “exhaling” a large column of air and water…But the much more important question is, “Where are we?” Our country is somewhere—but where?

DEFENSELESS

Since President Obama gave his rather tepid State of the Union address the pundits have spent a lot of time talking about his apparent disconnect with the American people over the economic problems facing this country. He talked about jobs, and the economy, but for the most part he spent his time proposing new Federal spending (he called it investing) that will just add to the already out of control deficit. I personally agree with many commentators who saw this as a campaign speech rather than a true State of the Union address.
However, what struck me as the most worrisome aspect of the speech was not so much what Obama said, but what he didn’t say.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

It is a new year and we have a new Congress taking office. The Republicans have solid control of the House of Representatives while the Democrats still have control of the Senate, but without a filibuster proof majority. The battle lines are already being joined and it is imperative that the American citizens who fought for the election of solid conservatives continue to pay attention to what is happening in Congress and let our Senators and Representatives, both Democrat and Republican, know that we are watching them.
We made our priorities known through the election and now we need to make sure that Congress does what we demanded.

THE COMING CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS

Months ago I pointed out that Obama was abusing the power of the President to issue Executive Orders. I also predicted that if the outcome of the election in November went against the Democrats the use of the executive orders would probably increase, potentially causing a major Constitutional crisis.
Recently, a far left think tank in Washington D.C. called The Center for American Progress has called for the President to by pass Congress and use his Executive powers to push forward his socialist agenda. The idea is to have Obama become a virtual dictator who will ignore the Constitution and act on his own despite the will of Congress and the American people.

Obama; Tucson vs. Chicago

Dear Friends;

While I commend President Obama for going to Tucson and honoring those who were brutally and viciously shot down by a sick gun man, I condemn him for not doing the same in Chicago when over 500 black teenagers were shot (in one year) as a result of senseless brutal gang violence.

Short & Sweet - Why Conservatism is Superior to Liberalism & Progressivism

I had a bit of an epiphany in the past couple of days; Conservatism is superior to Liberalism and Progressivism because it does not mandate HOW people live, but rather allows them to live, how THEY want, in freedom and liberty from Gov't control. Conservatism, philosophically constrains government from overstepping its intended boundaries to ensure people are free to be, pursue, and become what they choose.

Your thoughts and opinions as to the ramifications, implications, or alternatives are welcome.

Republicans & Hand-outs & Entitlements

by Rev. Wayne Perryman

Republican's boast that they are the party that believes that if you work hard instead of sitting around asking for handouts, you will be successful and experience the American dream. But what they will not say is that: they believe in hand-outs for those that are accepted and connected, but not for those who are not.

USA Constitution or Obama Executive Orders?

The following article written by our contributing writer, Michael Connelly, should be a wake up call for all of us.  Michael is a constitutional attorney and is the only person I know who has read and analyzed the entire Obama healthcare bill.  It's frustrating that as American citizens we seem helpless to effect any change in the direction our country is headed.  I think we're sitting on a powder keg and if Michael is correct in his analysis - if Obama usurps the constitution - I cannot venture to guess what will happen next!  God help us all!

We Must Care More For America Than Our Political Party

by Rev. Wayne Perryman

In looking at elections won and lost, I have concluded that Republicans must show that they care more about America than they do about the success of their own political party if they want win elections and protect and preserve the future of America. I am convinced that the success of the party should be a by-product of caring about America and all of its citizens, black, white, Asians, Latino, native Americans, rich, poor and middle class.

Will God Bless the Davids of the 112th Congress?

by Talk American Managing Editor - Jamie Walker

Now that the election of 2010 is mostly over, it’s appropriate to consider the outcome in light of the new variable in the political equation, The Tea Party Movement.

There’s little point in rehashing the history of the Tea Party Movement. It’s been well documented and with the possible exception of the mainstream media, mostly understood by most Americans. But to restate the movement’s fundamental principles, they are: Fiscal Sanity and Restraint at the Federal Level with an end to the Keynesian policies that have been soundly disproven. Constitutionally limited government, adhering to the appropriately stated charter of negative liberties intended to limit the encroachment of government into our personal lives. And lastly, Free Markets; not State Capitalism; not socialism and not neo-fascism.

The Tea Party Road Map

By Talk American Guest Writer - Lisa Miller

In the September issue of the "New Guard", Congressman Paul Ryan mapped out his plan to reclaim the American Idea. As a Tea Party leader it was necessary to respond with an alternative Tea Party Roadmap. The most challenging task is to confront our ballooning and unsustainable entitlements and other usurped government spending from State and local governments, commerce, charity and the individual.

Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid grew to an unsustainable level through the legislature’s lack of prudent fiscal responsiveness to increased life spans and political pressures that expanded care under Medicare and Medicaid without regard to the costs. I submit these programs should never have been anything more than minimal fully portable safety net protections executed through private products. The conflict arose when the government decided to run these programs.

THE ASSAULT ON AMERICA’S SENIOR CITIZENS

Baby Boomers especially, pay close attention.

They have been called America’s greatest generation and they deserve the accolades they have received. These are the Americans who are now in their eighties and nineties who survived the great depression and fought a valiant war on two fronts in Europe and Asia to save the world from being dominated by dictatorships that abhorred freedom. Many of them went on to fight in Korea to stop the spread of Communism that also represented a major threat to liberty.
My father and mother were two of the members of this generation

Soldiers NOT Up In Arms

By guest author Frank Selden

As the anniversary of the Fort Hood shooting nears, intensity will likely increase on Congress to reconsider the personal weapon ban for military personnel on US military installations. I urge careful consideration as a complete reversal may cost more lives that it might have saved at Fort Hood. I have a recommendation that might help arguments on both sides.

DANGER: the 111th Congress is returning!

I saw the most poignant bumper sticker the other day;
"If Obama is the answer, how stupid was the question?"

Labor Day is about what?

As I was driving this morning to take my wife out for breakfast, I was thinking about this day and its meaning.  I was wondering how many of us ever think about the reason we have this day in America in early September, set aside for a holiday of this type.

So, I thought I would test my flash of historic brilliance on my unsuspecting wife.
